LAYERS Fashion Show

The First Annual LAYERS Fashion Show in 2019 will continue the forward fashion movement in Raleigh, connect local and global talent, and raise awareness for those affected by addiction and assault. The cause is near to our team's heart as we experienced a loss of the dearest heart in an accidental overdose. In addition to promoting a culture of creative growth and innovation, the vision of this event is to provide inspiration and hope through a community collaboration, and change the course of future generations to come. It will also foster a spirit of support, offer a judgement-free space, and inspire positive change based on a foundation of acceptance and love. A portion of all proceeds will benefit Layers of Dignity.

“Though I may fall, still I am caught in your grace.” from Psalm 37:24

Hope Restored Women's Conference

Are you living in survival mode? Do past experiences keep you from moving forward?

The truth is, we've all been hurt, abused, or have suffered great loss in some way. It's a painful part of the human experience. While we're not defined by these painful experiences they can shake our faith, steal our joy, and hold us back from living the life we were created to live.

Jesus said, "The thief comes only to kill and steal and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full" (John 10:10). He didn't promise we would never have any trouble in this life. In fact, just the opposite. Nevertheless, we weren't made to merely survive. We were made to thrive!

The Courage Conference

  • Raleigh Convention Center (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

"The Courage Conference is an empowering, judgement-free refuge for abuse survivors looking to heal and a training ground for victim advocates pursuing ways to end abuse. A safe, trauma-informed environment will be maintained.

Hear inspiring stories, learn from informative talks, discover educational resources, and make invaluable connections with other survivors and advocates as we all pursue healing and advocacy."

We'll be supporting our fellow survivors at this conference with another awesome booth! Our mailbox will be open, so if you are attending this conference (register through the link below) and are a survivor ... write a love note to be included in a donated tote and drop it off with us!

Out of the Darkness Walk

"When you walk in the Out of the Darkness Walks, you join the effort with hundreds of thousands of people to raise awareness and funds that allow the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) to invest in new research, create educational programs, advocate for public policy, and support survivors of suicide loss.

Thanks to Walkers and Donors like you, AFSP has been able to set a goal to reduce the annual suicide rate 20% by 2025."

Online registration closes at noon (local time) the Friday before the walk. However, anyone who would like to participate can register in person at the walk from the time check-in begins until the walk starts. Registration is free and open to the public. Walk donations are accepted until December 31st.

We'll be out supporting fellow survivors and sharing what we do at our new booth!

We'll have our mailbox, so if you are a survivor and would like to write a love note to include in a donated tote come drop it off!

Self-Care Saturday

"Self care is more than just hitting the gym (though we love a good sweat session too) so we're throwing open our doors, gathering some awesome women and sweet services to help you take care of you. You won't want to miss this event - so go ahead and RSVP 'yes' and gather your squad to join you!"

"This community event is FREE to attend! We are, however, also collecting donations for Layers of Dignity and we hope you'll join us in filling their totes with essential items."
